?I was given the opportunity to review some sunglasses for my son from Real Kids Shades. ?I received two pairs and immediately upon opening them I thought, how cute are these!!! He loves to wear our sunglasses so I was excited to see how he would react to his own! I had never really thought about protecting my son?s eyes outdoors?.although now, I?m wondering why not! Did you know that children?s eyes are at an increased risk for permanent damage from sunlight until they?re at least 10?? Eye lenses can?t repair themselves either. Once they?re damaged, they?re damaged permanently. This can lead to serious eye diseases and even blindness. Don?t mistake the toy sunglasses for those that will protect your child?s eyes either. Those can actually relax the pupil and let in MORE damaging UV radiation. Most of the time he seems to be more comfortable outside with them on too! I?m comforted as a mom to know that his eyes are protected and he loves to be like mom and dad! Don?t get me wrong, he?s still only one and a half?.so there are definitely those times where he just wants to take them off and play with them?but since they?re made for kids, they can take it!
